After jumping on the furniture for what seemed like the 100th time today, I put Josh in time-out. Josh asks me, "If I'm really good, will you let me out of jail?" To which I respond, "You're not in jail." Josh says, "Oh, I thought I was."
We had the "repent bench"... just because I thought it was so dang funny and it always made me smile when I said... "Get over on the repent bench." When I was that mad I needed a smile. :)

Jail only confines the punished. Time out holds the Mom captive as well, especially if the captive is young and likes to get up
