My New Favorite - Sweet Mini Peppers

If you have not tried these peppers, you must!  They are seriously my new favorite food.  Last week I had a  salad for lunch 4 days with these little gems.  The only reason I didn't have it more was because my hubby took me out one day and I ran out of lettuce and these cute little peppers on the others.  But I went to the store yesterday and they were the first things in my cart - seriously.  Depending on the week, peppers can get kind of pricey and I never seem to finish them or they get lost in the black hole my fridge can be sometimes.  With these super yummies, I can grab as many or as few as I want and save the rest for later.  So with this little post, go out and try some yourself.  You won't be disappointed.  And if you need some ideas of what to do with these, check out this site here.  I haven't tired any of these recipes myself, but I will be.  This site just came up when I was looking for a picture of the peppers - lol.  Hopefully it's a good one.  If you try any recipes before me, let me know which are your faves!

Making the Bed

So, Tim used to be the one to make the bed in the morning.  I was always up first, either to work or to the gym.  But, since lately I've done neither of these things, I'm making the bed most of the time now.  I hated making my bed when I was a kid.  I always thought it was a waste of time since I was just going to get back in it that night.  For a while though, it looked nice all day long so I really didn't mind making it.  Although, this past week I'm starting to feel that it's a waste of time again, but this time for a different reason.

I've turned into kind of a pillow freak with our bed.  While staying at a hotel a while back, they had a bed runner at the foot of the bed.  I thought it was cute and wanted to make one for myself.  I did and of course I needed to make pillows to go with it.  And being pregnant, I tried out a body pillow (which I ended up not liking) so that's on the bed now too.  Seriously, the pillows take up about half the bed.  Anyway, it can take a little bit of time to make.

Okay, so now on to why I'm feeling like it's a waste of time to make.  Benj gave up his nap a few months ago.  It used to be that his nap time was my time to catch up on trash TV, crochet and sew.  Since he is no longer napping, I have to try and get those things in while he's running around the house.  He hasn't quite gotten the idea of "quiet time" yet.  (Josh is a pro at it though!)  Anyway, Benj usually hangs around wherever I am.  My sewing machine is in our bedroom.  So, when I'm sewing, Benj is hanging out there.  There's not much for me to do in there but sleep and sew.  Benj, being an adventurous 3-yr-old, has found plenty to do in there.  Most of which involve my bed in some way.  His two favorite activities are racing his cars along the bed and jumping on the bed.  When I say jumping, I really mean gathering up all the pillows to "climb mountains" or whatever else his imagination can come up with.

Needless to say, he can destroy that bed in seconds flat.  I thought for a bit about not making the bed with all the pillows anymore, but when really I think about it, would it look as inviting to Benj?  Probably not.  Is it a bother to make the bed only to have it destroyed hours, sometimes minutes later?  Maybe.  Does sewing take a little more time with Benj asking for pillows to be thrown back up on the bed when they've fallen out of reach?  Sure it does.  But honestly, I don't think I'd have it any other way.  Benj likes to be with me now so I need to take the time to be with him.  And if that means my bed looks like a tornado hit it, so be it.  I had a messy bed as a kid, I can have a messy bed as an adult.

Note: This picture was taken after I wrote the post but before I actually posted it.  I don't even remember what I did with my time when he was actually napping.  Probably nothing productive, but it sure was quiet!
